Full Day School: A Study of Implementation in Elementary School

Abstract

Good character is the main foundation for humans. One of the activities that support the development of student character is the full day school activity implemented by the school. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of full day school in building student character at Bunga Bangsa Islamic Elementary School. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.


Based on the results of research conducted at Bunga Bangsa Islamic Elementary School, there are several activities that support the development of student character, including Islamic studies known as tausiah which is held regularly every morning, congregational prayer activities, special learning about the value of character values in class, namely focusing on learning about the manners of students in schools, homes and communities, learning the Koran using the Ummi method, memorizing short hadiths, today reflection, business days and the existence of environmental research institutions. The various activities that have been carried out above support the character development of the students
