Abstract

The article focuses on the need for the formation and development of emotional intelligence as the most important quality of the professional competence in future social teachers. We have put forward the following hypothesis: the use of the training educational program and the socio-psychological training (SPT) contribute to the formation and development of emotional intelligence in future social teachers. The study involved 40 students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov (L.N. Gumilyov ENU) and 46 students of the Institute of Pedagogy of the Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov (K. ZhubanovARSU).

The purpose of the research is to assess the state of the problem of emotional intelligence at the present time; to consider different points of view of researchers on the problem of emotional intelligence; to show the influence of emotional intelligence on the professional and personal development of a social teacher.

To achieve these tasks for social teachers, the training program and the SPT were used, aimed at actualizing the creative potential of students, developing empathy and other components of emotional intelligence (EI). The analysis of the EI indicators of the subjects at the first and last stages of the researchhas confirmed our hypothesis that the use of the training program and the SPT for future social teachers has a positive effect on the formation and further development of intrapersonal and interpersonal aspects of emotional intelligence, and also increases the quality of the professional competence.
