Abstract

The aimof this study was to investigate the effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving
(TAPPS) strategy on developing scientific concepts and habits of mind among middle school
students. The sample consisted of 64 male Saudi students. We applied a quasi-experimental
design with an experimental and a control group and a pretest–posttest.We examined the
correlation between the two dependent variables.The data-collection instrumentswere a
scientific-concepts test and habits-of-mind questionnaire. The results revealed a statistically
significant difference between the mean scores of both instruments in favor of the experimental
group. Additionally, there was a positive relationship between developing scientific concepts and
habits of mind among the students for the experimental group
