Abstract

The researchers of approaches to phonological awareness in literature will notice the tyranny of the Western approach and the superficiality of the Arabic approach, which is seen as literal repetition hidden under the pretext of scientific integrity in translation.


The examiner will conclude that this is due to ignorance of the specificity of the Arabic language and the exceptionality of its phonetics, or that this is due to the search for ease to avoid helplessness in the face of the complexities of the Arabic language. .


But what is strange is that Arab researchers and practitioners use terminology that is not suitable for the Arabic language.


In this article, we will attempt to critically approach studies on phonological awareness according to the characteristics of the Arabic language, to demonstrate the transgressions of its literal translation and the extent of the transgression on the linguistic, cultural and social specificity of the Arabic language, and conclude on the reasons for the deficiencies in treatment programs for disorders linked to phonological awareness.
