MOKHTAR ZOUAOUI'S EFFORTS IN ARABIZING "ON DUAL ESSENCE OF LANGUAGE", MANUSCRIPT OF FERDINAND DE SAUSSURE AND ITS EPISTEMIC VALUE IN DIRECTING THE ARABIC CONTEMPORARY LINGUISTIC LESSON

Abstract

     The newly published Saussurian manuscripts, especially "On dual essence of Language" and "Texts in General Linguistics" show a new turn in his thought exceeds the epistemic boundaries that they deposited by his students in the "Lectures" published in 1916 where scientists and critics accepted them from the beginning of their discovery, as Robert Godel published some documents that the Saussure family gifted to the public library and university in Geneva in his book "The Manuscript Origins of General Linguistics" in 1957 followed after a decade by Rodolf Engler's in publishing his critical encyclopedia twice. Entitled "Writings on General Linguistics" published in 1967 then 1972, as well as the critical edition issued by Tullio De Mauro in 1968, then scientists discovered another stack of new documents organized and excellently arranged which number was (400 pages) called "Manuscripts of the Orange Gardens Les Manuscrits de l'Orangerie" in 1996, It includes the project of two semi-complete books belonging to Saussure himself and in his own handwriting, and it was achieved by Simon Bouquet and Rudolf Engler and published in 2002, as these last manuscripts carry an original Saussurian thought completely different from the thought spread by the lectures of Charles Bally, Albert Sechehay and their assistant Albert Riedlinger, and all these revolutionary discoveries and their investigations and criticism have become known as "Saussurian philologies" completely unknown to the Arab reader despite the passage of two full decades since their discovery, so the translations of Mokhtar Zouaoui come to introduce them and try to extract A complete Saussurian theory that exceeds the superficial knowledge formed after the dedication of the five Arabic translations in the mid-eighties of the last century, therefore this research is working on analyze the value of these efforts, especially his translation of the book "On dual essence of Language" and the possibilities of benefiting the Arab mind from it.
