It aims to illuminate the major famines that emerged in Constantine and its vicinity during the transition from the late Ottoman era to the early period of French colonial rule. This exploration seeks to identify the causes and diverse impacts of these famines on the regional socio-economic conditions, primarily through an examination of historical documents, with a special focus on "Famines in Constantine" by Saleh Antari.
