Abstract

The aim of this research is to study the impact of the menstrual cycle on strength andendurance performance in senior female basketball players. Thirty-four senior basketball players, with an average age of 24.52 ± 1.96 years, participated and were tested on four occasions: at thebeginning of the follicular phase (BF), at the end of the follicular phase (EF), at the beginning of theluteal phase (BL), and at the end of the luteal phase (EL). For this purpose, we used theCounterMovement Jump (CMJ) test and the 30-15 IFT test. The results show that strength and enduranceperformance experienced changes during the different phases of the menstrual cycle, withimprovements particularly during the late follicular phase. The menstrual cycle appears to influenceathleticperformance, and therefore its consideration is necessary in training planning
