Abstract

The pandemic situation has made all schools and colleges remain closed for several months during 2020. As a result of this online learning has been emerged to engage the students to focus on their academic work by various educational institutions and as per the guidelines given by the government. This research work is focused on the student’s perception towards Online classes with Chalkboard classes. The study also evaluates the students view on their listening ability in comparison with both Online classes and chalkboard classes. The students also convey their views on the flexibility of online classes with chalkboard classes.  The stress level of the students is also evaluated during the study. This study also evaluates the students experience in online class through various applications brought by teacher in online teaching. The purpose of the study is to compare the effectiveness of online class with chalkboard class and know about the satisfaction level of students in both online and chalkboard classes. The study is a descriptive type and conducted between the college students at Chennai region. A sample of about 130 is taken for the study using convenient random sampling and it is the pilot study conducted to find the perception of students. The Statistical tools used for the study were Pearson correlation and chi-square test that were analyzed using SPSS software. Based on the analysis the findings of the study are given.
