The Predictive Role of Psychological Capital, Social Support in Stress among Cardiac Patients

Abstract

Current article was designed to investigate the Predictive Role of Psychological Capital, Social Support in Stress among Cardiac
Patients. Sample of cardiac patients (N=230) further equally divided into men and women having 20 to 50 years of age was
selected. For data collection purposive sampling technique was used. Correlational research design was used for this study.
Cardiac patients who were suffering from last five years within cardiovascular disease and angina were included in this research
as participants. For data collection Psychological Capital Questionnaire, (Luthans et al., 2007), Urdu version by (Garden, 2019),
Perceived Social Support (Zimet et al., 1988), translated Urdu version by (Zafar & Kausar, 2013), Perceived Stress Scale Cohen,
(Kamarck & Mermelstein, 1983), Urdu version by (Tahira & Kausar, 2013) was administered. Findings indicated significant
positive associations among psychological capital, social support and negative association with stress. Results also showed that
stress is significantly predicted by psychological capital and social support among cardiac patients. These findings are
contribution in the field of Clinical and health Psychology
