Abstract

This article discusses the emergence of cultural linguistics, its a new linguistic branch, by illustrating its reasons for emergence, founding perspective, and the sources it draws from, including anthropological linguistics with its traditions ( sociolinguistics, ethnosyntax, ethnography of speaking), and cognitive linguistics with its studies on perception and imagery. The aim is to introduce this new field, which has not been widely and notably studied in Arabic literature, and to draw the attention of anthropological and linguistic studies to it, hopefully sparking contributions to its development within the Arabic context.
