Abstract
In a globalized world characterized by rapid cultural exchange, the dynamics of identity and belonging have become increasingly complex. This paper offers a comprehensive sociological review of the interplay between globalization and these fundamental aspects of human experience. Drawing on a range of theoretical frameworks and empirical studies, the paper examines the impact of globalization on cultural identity formation, the rise of new forms of belonging, and the challenges and opportunities posed by globalization for individual and collective identities. Case studies from diverse contexts illuminate the ways in which individuals negotiate their identities and sense of belonging in global cities, transnational communities, and virtual spaces.
