Abstract

Zawyas are a comprehensive religious, scientific and social institution that harnesses its scientific, cognitive and educational efforts within the society in which it is located. For the purpose of educating individuals, forming and building their personalities as required by the teachings of the Islamic Shari'a through its work of entrenching and disseminating true and indigenous Islamic culture; whether it is related to doctrine, jurisprudence and its origins, or to education, which are derived from the holly book, Sunnah And the work of righteous ancestors. zawyas, and throughout history, have been a place for and authentic practical model of science and knowledge-based education, worship, commitment to regularity, discipline, adherence to cleanliness, and reverence, also a place that serves people, and cooperates in righteousness and piety, as well as being instrumental in creating leadership models and prepare and qualify them for various tasks in the spheres of life. Sheikh Mohamed Bai Belalem is one of the influential figures of science who graduated from one of the Zawyas from southern Algeria. He worked in education, research and authoring, and dedicated most of his efforts to create models of individuals that impose their moral presence in society and entrench the values and the spirit of Islam.
