Abstract

This study aims to analyze wedding rituals in the city within a temporal context by examining individuals' behaviors related to the preparation and performance of these rituals, considering the influence of place. The analysis goes beyond traditional ethnographic description, adopting an analytical reading of behaviors and practices in their temporal and spatial dimensions, with an emphasis on adherence to cultural and social heritage. The study seeks to understand the reasons behind Algerian families' insistence on adhering to rituals, deconstructing and reshaping them according to social standards, and highlighting the impact of time on these rituals by exploring elements of change and continuity. Rituals are presented as tools individuals use to achieve
personal interests, whether to attain social status or establish new relationships, reflecting the city's heritage and striving to preserve the uniqueness of these practices as celebratory rituals symbolizing social success.
