Abstract

Social and personal growth in childhood occurs through the relationship between social factors, biological maturation and the child's social and self-representations. This interaction is seen in a debate on the effects of essential relationships, social understanding, personality growth and social and emotional skill in infancy. There has been considerable interest in researching a child's personality over the past decade for several socio-political, economic, scientific and clinical reasons. In recent years, concern about the consequences of increased parental participation has diminished. The latest interests and concerns among social service providers and clinicians seem to be exceptionally prominent.
