Algeria's development strategy towards the African Sahel in light of asymmetric threats

Abstract

Africa's Sahel is one of the most tense and dynamic regions at present,transformed after the events of 11 September, into a hotbed of conflict and a fertile
space for terrorist organizations and organized crime. Where have other factors,such as the fragility of the nation-State, low economic performance, weak levels
of development and other causes, been associated, which together have led to increased tension and instability in the region.
